I think I'm listening to too much Cher. But then again maybe it's not enough Cher! Damn her for making some catchy tunes. Props to her guitarist for using the Db chord, you hardly ever hear that in pop music, but I'm glad the jazz influences are there. It's an understated chord and we should bring it to the forefront of all forms of music!

I managed to survive the heat last time by just charging into an ice cold shower (as I read this was how Hugh Jackman prepared himself to get into character as Wolverine in the X-Men films), and not only does it cool you down, it makes you crazy as a result.

The ability to say anything remotely interesting or even relevant has been diminishing for me. It's still way too hot! I'm gonna buy an inflatable pool, as well as a fridge and just live in there for a while. My plan is brilliant. I'm tired, goodbye.

A

Oh my god!! 38 tomorrow and the day after! What am I to do? Probably avoid the net altogether and just sit downstairs and try to think cool thoughts. There is going to be at least one death that's heat related. Well at least there better be, or else I'm going to be really disappointed! Crazy, but that's what the heat does, you lose your senses!! I'm going to make a house out of ice. And just invite cool people to keep it going. Hahah what the hell??! This post makes no sense. Heat heat heat heat, is hot hot, with the hot hot heat. I wonder what happened to them, they kinda dropped off the map by the time the 2nd album dropped. Well I'll post again soonish, when I'm not drenched in my own sweat. Haircut tomorrow, huzzah! I look a tad unpresentable at the moment, with the lack of shaving and what not. My sideburns have sort of just blended into my facial hair, so I can't tell where one starts and the other begins. Hopefully I'll make a lot more sense then, but no guarantees.

A

    <lj:music>Lisa Loeb - Rose Coloured Times</lj:music>

Oh my god, I'm actually on fire it is THAT hot. I did not sleep properly, and the worst feeling is waking up caked in sweat and sorta stuck to your mattress, and you try to get up and you hear that "scrtchh scrtttch" noise and you think "fantastic!"

I'm used to 31-32, but 34?? That's just too much, especially (as I've mentioned before) that it gets at least 10 degrees hotter upstairs then the outside temperature. Hellooo cold shower tonight.

Crash and Red Eye were awesomeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!! On tonight's list is Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and a bit of brainless fun in the form of Into The Blue.

I don't know which is better, Lisa Loeb's Stay, or Fools Like Me! Both equally good.

The Teddy Bear Shop in Civic has let me down!! They could not fix Boyo so I don't know what to do except hope she holds together and be a bit more gentle with her. Seriously, all she needs is a re stuffing and restitching, and they can't do it out of fear that she won't hold!! Terrible I say! And it's the only place in Canberra that specialises in this kinda stuff, what am I meant to do??!

Forgive me for the blasphemy I'm about to commit, but I have been watching The OC this season (SHOCK HORROR)! Since Mischa Barton's character died, I have found I have been able to watch the show without being reduced to dry wretching, and in fact I find it quite enjoyable.

Messed up my counting and realised that most college kids have finished (but High Schoolers still have till the end of next week, if my brain is still functioning - those that have spoken to me on MSN lately have realised that it isn't), which means that they have already begun their monopoly of shopping precincts and cinemas, which means I can't go anywhere, damn kids!!

You know All Saints have reformed and released a new song? I've only heard a bit of it but it wasn't bad (nothing compared to Pure Shores though). In light of that random remark, it's time for me to pass out and sweat a bit more.

Exeunt Stage Left.

A

IT IS FREEZING! I tell you, it felt like winter today and it was not cool. I feel the first seeds of a cold coming on. I shouldn't have been roaming around Civic today in the cold wet weather. I checked out new Civic and I was horribly disgusted. I think Canberra is growing much too fast. At this rate, we're going to turn into Sydney within the next 20 years. I feel like moving to a smaller place now. It's consumerism, dark isolation and soul raping gone mad.

My beautiful baby (the bear) was taken to the teddy bear shop and is being fixed. However, this means that I have to do without her for 2 weeks! How the hell am I supposed to sleep? I can't sleep without her!!

I have finishedddd!! I'm on holidaysssss!!
It was FREEZING yesterday and all of last night. Now I have a cold, how crappy! Hopefully it clears up during this last week, or study period is going to be really crappy. I have figured out that I have 16 study days during exam time to get ready for the onslaught. Unfortunately my exams aren't at decent intervals so studying for an exam that is still relatively a month away is going to be interesting to say the least.

I have Tuesday off this week, yay! Do you know what I'm going to do? I'm going to sleep in! This comes after all my Tuesdays this semester being taken up with a bloody 8:30am class and another one at 6:30pm, can you believe that??! That's like the worst day ever.

I feel so slack for not having done any work this weekend, but it does feel good to relax somewhat. Played Singstar yesterday and made a fool of myself! Also played this strange Katamari Damacy game, where you are this lil sticky ball that has to roll around the world gradually getting bigger and bigger (kinda like a snowball effect). It's interesting because you have to work your way up, and the subject matter of the story line (and the King's diatribes) are utterly disturbing and definitely not suitable for children! It's stacked with surrealism and very dark, post modern humour. I almost went insane playing it.

Hope everyone is ok. Unfortunately this means study time has to start soon and I have been lacking the motivation to really try (call it attack of the 4th year syndrome).
I have updated, finally!!! Do you know what this means? I'm on holidays, yay! Well I have been since Wednesday 11am, but I have been busy catching up on sleep and watching a hell of a lot of world cup soccer. Exams were a little funky this time around. I studied very hard this time, sacrificing 10-12 hours a day in order to be prepared, but even then the exams were still a challenge. That's another thing, I wonder about my grades all the time, so I can't officially relax until they're out, and that's usually a bit before holidays are over anyway, which means no real fun for me! Oh well, there's no need to bring up school for a month or so at least. My thoughts go out to all those who still have another week of exams left...poor bastards.

For all those who live in the vicinity, and have a soul would know how freaking cold it has been lately. You're probably wondering why I'm mentioning the weather, but don't fret, I'm going somewhere with this. Well yes, it has been beyond freezing, which was why I was shocked to discover some girl on campus trolloping about in a miniskirt. Nope, no stockings, no thigh highs. Just heels, a miniskirt and a light long sleeve top! Let me point out the diffence here, on the same day, I was wearing heavy cargo pants, a long sleeve top, a jumper on top of my long sleeve top and a heavy jacket and I still had issues trying to feel my extremeties. My friends alluded to the fact that this girl knew what she was doing and was obviously trying to get attention. I promptly agreed a few seconds later after I realised that while we were walking behind her, ALL the guys walking in the opposite direction stopped after she had walked past, turned around and grinned at each other! I love my university. Oh yes, I found out that it's possible to actually get two degrees for a double degree, instead of a single piece of paper with both degrees on it. As a result, I should be graduating at the end of this year for Journalism. Woohoo, I'll finally get to be a graduate...and then I'll still be at uni for another year and a bit for Law...

The other day my father and I had to go somewhere and we were forced to wait a long time. Anyway, during our wait an elderly woman said something in passing to us. My father made the mistake of asking a follow up question. This woman became a non-stop talking machine. Think Grampa Simpson. Stories from the 40's turned into random rants which had absolutely NOTHING to do with each other. I had to bite my lips to stop myself from erupting into laughter. She must have spoken for at least 2 hours, HONESTLY. I have never experienced anything like it before. Even my father who is guilty of the same crime, but to a much lesser degree commented on the insanity of the moment, and expressed regret over asking a question. The lesson to be learned? Never talk to the elderly, just nod and smile politely.

I don't know if anyone else has seen the ads for this new development called "Encounter Park". Alright, stop right there, is that not funny enough already? Who the hell would call a place Encounter Park?! I wouldn't want to live in a place which sounds like I'd be set upon by a group of shady characters if I stepped outside the confines of my home. Why not Incident Lane? Assault & Battery Place? Greivous Bodily Harm Street? Hok, I'll stop there, you should get the point by now.

I also must profess my love for the Pussycat Dolls. I have all their clips, and what's more, I liked them before anyone else even knew who the hell they were! For those not in the know, they released a song (a cover of "Sway") for the movie Shall We Dance - Jennifer Lopez and Richard Gere. It was perhaps the best version of that song I've ever heard and the clip was classy yet still incredibly sexy. A lot better than Don't Cha, which was just legitimate soft-core pornography. Anyway, I have been enjoying Beep, and Buttons (which has yet to be released in Oz), so much so that I've even come up with a funky acoustic cover of Beep, complete with percussion (yes I have too much time on my hands). I also admire their songwriting prowess, permit me to demonstrate:

(First verse of Beep, sung by Nicole)

"...I keep turning them down
But, they always come around
Asking me to go around
That's not the way it's going down"

See the repetition there? They're so good that they don't even have to think up new words to rhyme! Now that's confidence (and good song writing) right there!

(Second verse, as sung by Nicole...again)

"Do you know that no
Don't mean yes, it means no
So just hold up, wait a minute
Let me put my two cents in it
One, just be patient
Don't be rushing
Like you're anxious
And two, you're just too aggressive..."

Just look at lines 1 and 2. As if the first line wasn't enough to let the audience know what the wider context was, they just HAD to go ahead and point out the obvious. Then a bit later on they employ a good colloquial saying as a brilliant weapon in their arsenal of literary devices. Two cents...while the first cent has more than one point...but they're PCD, they don't need to justify themselves to you!! Cause you're ugly, deal with it!

You can also expect more pics from me since I have the time. You should also check out M_eo_w, on the LJ profiles page, mainly cause I think the brunette is quite hot. Haha, expect more crazy posts since I have nothing to do. Have fun people.

A

<lj:music>Trivium - Dying In Your Arms (wicked triads galore)</lj:music>

So only two pieces of assessment left before exams, hurrah! My ALSA stuff is all taken care of, so yes it is off to Melbourne for July 3-9. I'm going to be representing my University in the Negotiation competition. It was rather expensive to get this stuff done. The cost for my team-mate and I is about $800 each. However the brilliant folks at Mallesons have sponsored us, so that's going towards alleviating some of the stress on my wallet.

I don't know if I've mentioned this before but I really hate The Veronicas. Do me a favour - listen to 4ever by them, and then listen to Since U Been Gone by Kelly Clarkson. Do the same with When It All Falls Apart and Cher's Turn Back Time. I think you will notice the similarities almost instantly. It's as blatantly obvious as Nickelback's How You Remind Me and Someday. However I don't know which is worse, since Nickelback strapped off themselves, as opposed to an established artist.

Exams aren't that bad this semester. I have one on the 9th and another one and the 14th, and after that I have calculated that I have 33 days exactly until the first day of semester 2. I believe that this date also marks the return of one Superfine. It has been a year since I have seen her!! Hopefully that fine-ness has remained intact and not ruined by those devious Canadians.

Love Actually was an excellent movie! I need to get it on DVD now. Hell I'm not ashamed to say it, I did cry in a few parts (I don't remember which bits now, though). Note to self, also need to buy Unfaithful on DVD. Ahh Diane Lane, she reminds me of what Kathleen Turner used to be. Hopefully her career doesn't wind up in the same place as Ms Turner's.

Wow, I honestly thought I'd have something of note to say this time, but surprise surprise, I don't! What'choo gonna do 'bout it, punk??! Eh??!

Guess what? Yes, it's time to get back to studying. Have fun, people!

A

    <lj:music>The Stone Roses - Fools Gold</lj:music>

How interesting. On Thursdays I usually start at 8:30 am, and on Wednesdays I get to sleep in. This usually results in me feeling like hell on Thursdays for not getting enough sleep. Lo and behold, I actually went to bed early on Wednesday night and was able to sleep like a baby. Slight deviation - Natalie Imbruglia needs to be punched in the face. We now return to our original programming. Thursday passed without incident, and then came the evening and it was time to finish off some assessment...which was due the next day. I was awake till 7am getting it done, and I was pleased with the result, but it came at a heavy cost. I got three hours sleep, then I woke up to hand it in, then I passed out until 7:30pm. As if my sleeping pattern wasn't already messed up, things just had to get worse! I usually stay away from coke because I know the effects it has on me in large doses. But it had to be done for the greater good. 2 Vanilla Cokes and a Red Bull at evenly spaced intervals worked wonders and I was buzzing the entire night. That's the strangest part, I felt absolutely fine the entire night, despite the fact that I was obviously going crazy towards the end. 24 hours easily done. Jack Bauer go to hell, I am the best!

At the end of this week I will receive a take home exam. The week after, I have a 2000 word academic report due. That same week I have a speech to give to class (that one is all written up at least). The week after that I have a journal to hand in. Then two exams in a short space of time, hooray!

I love the new LJ profiles. My favourite is advice 4 teens. Basically it's just a help forum for teens, in which they seek advice from other teens. HELLO! The last people that should be giving advice is teenagers! 99% of the time, teen problems are a result of other teens! Doesn't anybody remember the lyrics from Porno For Pyros' - Pets? "Teenagers are fucked up in the head". Wise man Mr Farrell, wise man.

I should do some work.

A

    <lj:music>Megadeth - Tornado Of Souls</lj:music>

It's amazing what I'll do in the pursuit of procrastination sometimes. I've had 1.5 pieces of assessment to do for the last two weeks, and that will continue until the end of semester. However, the heavy stuff is behind me so I'm sitting pretty for a while. This last week has been hell though, I've been going to bed at 5am each day after doing 7 hours of work each day for the stupidest essay I've ever done. Who would have thought procedural law would be so dry?? I would have been less frazzled about things if I actually got stuck into my work, but sometimes I shock myself! I listened to winamp for a bit, and I use the random feature, otherwise I'd always listen to the same songs. Eventually I got to Backstreet Boys - I Want It That Way. Awesome acoustic intro...I just had to learn it. So instead of studying I actually resorted to obsessively learning that song note for note. Was that enough? No! That night I destroyed my entire stack of old CD's looking for my BSB Millenium CD (don't worry, I bought it copied from overseas, as if I'd spend good money on something so wretch inducing). Eventually I realised that it was downstairs so at 5am I went down to get it and listened to the CD until 7am. Hahahaha, it's something someone with ADD would be proud of! Say what you will about BSB, I think they actually did have talent. Then again so did *NSYNC. I Want It That Way is probably one of the greatest pop songs of all time. The lyrics actually don't make any real sense (look them up)! I hope *NSYNC get back together, because I think they were probably better because of their set roles within the group (tenor, counter tenor, soprano - oh Justin, he without testicles).

Goddamn, why am I feeling so tired?? This entry has exhausted me and I'm quite certain I didn't even get to say what I was meaning to say. Oh well, until next time.

A

    <lj:music>Natasha Bedingfield - This Love (acoustic cover)</lj:music>

Equity take home exam is doneeeee! I am as free as a flightless bird, as I have a few more things that I would prefer to get done before the class free is over.

I've recently gotten into facebook, which is a lot like hi5 but less slutty and actually has a practical use. If you use it, add me!! A quick warning though, it is damn addictive.

Why do television shows insist on getting rid of attractive females?? Sometimes I'll watch a show just cause there's an attractive woman on there and eventually I will realise that the plot is good and will keep watching. Example? 24's second season. Elisha Cuthbert had straightened her hair and was looking mighty fine. I decided to watch the second season in it's entirety and realised that 24 was bloody fantastic. I eventually watched the first season before the third season came out. The third season was a bit of a let down, as Elisha looked horrible with short hair and Vanessa Ferlito was killed off within 3 episodes! However, 24 is still an awesome show (the 4th series was enough to restore my faith) and I can continue to watch it. CSI NY was different however. Once again the delicious Vanessa Ferlito was a cast regular and I got into the series. However, you can imagine my shock after the first series where her character quits!! Her replacement was a little more ummm...let's just say she was a little more homely looking. I have not watched an episode of the new series since. It's interesting though, as CSI NY is a decent show, and I'm glad Gary Sinise is able to have steady work cause he's sadly a very underrated actor.

Then there's reality tv. Let's take Survivor. If you're an attractive female, you will not win. Oh wait, what about Amber and Jenna? Whoops...! Haha well let's just keep it to the current series. Misty was HOT and she is a missile engineer. It doesn't get any better than that. But lo and behold, she was voted off as soon as the first chance arose!! I only have Danni now, who looks amazing despite being out in the middle of nowhere "surviving". She's tough and she's lazy so of course she's going to be voted out soon. Then oh god, the amazing race!!!! Last season there were the hot mormon sisters. I almost chucked a psycho when they were eliminated, and now this season Desiree and her mother were eliminated in the last episode!! If Danni and Dannielle are out within 2 episodes, I'll be pissed. However, TAR is a great show and I'll never stop watching it. But dammit, if anyone out there in TV land is reading this, stop getting rid of attractive females from my fave tv shows (it's all I have)!

A

You

Belong in Paris

You enjoy all that life has to offer, and you can

appreciate the fine tastes and sites of Paris.
You're the perfect person to wander the streets

of Paris aimlessly, enjoying architecture and a

crepe.

What European City Do You

Belong In?

That's it, I'm moving!

Better start getting those plans in motion and get that appointment with the tattoo artist out of the way. Why? It's lockdown time! Yes, it was my suburb on the news that was locked down. Not just that, the lockdown happened practically right outside my house! Sometimes I think having a view over this side of town isn't so great. My favourite part of the story was that after a 3 hour standoff they realised that nobody was home and the person had given themself up in a police station a not too insignificant distance from this area. I've never seen so many cars piled on to my street before but it was a good source of excitement. I noticed something was amiss at 3 when I saw a police car stop in the middle of the road and other cars were stopping too and all these people were just lining up and talking and pointing off at something. Oh firearm equipped loonies, how many of you reside in this part of Canberra?! It gives me great comfort that anyone can basically be carrying a firearm at any time! Ahhhh, only in the Westsideeeeeeee yoooo, and before you think I am taking the piss - no, it really is a ghetto in the disguise of pretty houses and perfectly kept lawns.

Your Birthdate: November 2

You're so intuitive, it's like you have a sixth, seventh, and eighth sense.
You connect with others freely and easily - and you tend to have many best friends.
Warm and caring, it's hard for you to close your heart to anyone.
Affection is like air for you - you need to give and receive it to survive.

Your strength: Your universal compassion

Your weakness: Your unpredictable mood swings

Your power color: Mauve

Your power symbol: Butterfly

Your power month: February

What Does Your Birth Date Mean?

That's a lie! <lj:music>The Byrds - Turn Turn Turn</lj:music>

Not a lot to report really, just thought I'd update to make sure people didn't think I was dead and started stealing my stuff. Some lady went nuts in Equity last week during a lecture when we were learning about the Cubillo decision. I'll leave the ones who have done law to figure out why she went nuts cause it's not something that can be discussed in certain company. It may be damn cold these days, but why do girls still gallivant around in hot pants and singlet tops?! Not that I'm complaining, just asking a simple question cause I'm curious you know! For a visual example, just think of Mutya from the Sugababes in their clip for Push The Button. In fact I remember last summer exams girls showed up for exams like that and it was really tough to concentrate. I think it's a damn good plan, hot stupid girls make geniuses (read: me) get bad marks from not being able to focus and their score markedly improves! But if they thought of a plan like that, they wouldn't be so stupid now would they?

What's the difference between a private post and a friends post? If a private post is just for you only, what's the point?? Livejournal is to bring out the worst in human nature and let it out in a healthy and appropriate forum/medium for that kind of behaviour. I for one find it quite refreshing.

Take home exams go to hell! One piece of assessment due on Friday. Half of it is done. Short sentences. Me no like. Syntax? No..? Yes!!!

I am certainly looking forward to getting some double digit sleep time during my two week break. What is everyone else doing? Do the international folk even get a break mid semester?

Is it just me or are Wentworth Miller and Jensen Ackles the best looking guys on television? Seriously, they need a crowbar to the face, how can the rest of us mere mortals compete with previously mentioned?! As you can tell, I'm tired and delirious. And to all a good night!

A
